Former TI workers starting to get letters about cancer help

ATTLEBORO — At least 2,200 present or retired workers at Texas Instruments’ former Attleboro plant that made nuclear fuel have begun receiving letters from the company informing them they could be eligible for benefits if they contracted cancer and meet certain other criteria.
The letter, which included information on a federal government program to benefit former atomic workers who contracted cancer, was sent after U.S. Rep. Joseph Kennedy III spoke to TI President and CEO Richard Templeton about the issue after reading a report in The Sun Chronicle.
